Eligibility Criteria
for Indian Navy Vacancy 2018:
Educational Qualification:
1. Master Grade-I -
Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution b)
Certificate of Master 1st Class I.S.V At least two years’ experience of
independently handling of a vessel of not less than 30 nominal horse power
2. Master Grade-II -
Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution. b)
Certificate of Master 2nd Class I.S.V. c) At least 2 years’ experience of
independently handling a craft of 20 horse power
3. Syrang of Lascar - Matriculation
or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution. b) Two years’
service/experience as a Sukhani of a vessel of not less 20 horse power c)
Knowledge of Storm and distress signals, charts and compass
4. Lascar-I - Matriculation
or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution. b) Must know swimming
5. Senior Engine Driver - Matriculation
or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution. b) Certificate of Competency
as 1st Class Engine Driver. c) Not less than 2 years’ service on a vessel of
not less than 225 B.H.P. as Incharge.
6. Engine Driver II Class - a)
Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution. b)
Certificate of Competency as Engine Driver 2nd Class. c) Two years’ service as
a Syrang/Tindal on a vessel of over 400 B.H.P
7. Engine Driver -
a) Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution. b) Must
have permit from Mercantile Marine Department for Class III Driver. c) 2 years’
experience as Crew Engine Room
8. Greaser -
Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution. b) 3 years’
service in a Sea going vessel
9. Fireman - Matriculation
or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution. b) Must know swimming
Age Limit:
Candidate’s
Age Limit Should not exceed (For Post 1, 2 - 18 Years to 42 Years), (For Post 3 to 9 -
18 Years to 37 Years). The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3
years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s
& 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules.
