Applications are invited from male citizens of Odisha possessing educational qualifications and age as prescribed below for recruitment to the post of Enrolled Follower (Safaiwala) in the Indian Coast Guard, an armed force of the union.

Educational qualification: Matriculation or ITI OR Equivalent from Board of Education recognized by the Central/State Govt.

Age: Born between (a) UR Candidates -30 May 1992 to 30 May 1999 (b) SC/ST Candidates – 30 May 1987 to 30 May 1999.

Nature of duty: Cleaning & maintenance of WCs (Toilets), offices & premises. Posting onboard ships for similar jobs pertaining to hygiene and general maintenance of ships.

Place of work: Anywhere in India (including Andaman & Nicobar Islands).

Medical standard: Minimum Height – 157 cm, Weight – Proportionate to height, Chest – Well proportioned, Minimum expansion -5 cm, Eye sight - 6/18.

Pay scale: Basic Pay Rs. 21700.00-69100.00 (Pay Level -03) and other allowances as admissible to Central Government employees.

Training: Enrolled followers shall remain on probation for a period of 2 years which may extend by 1 year. The government may terminate the service of an individual if performance during probationary period found unsatisfactory.

Selection procedure: The candidates will have to appear for written test comprising General Awareness, General English & Elementary Mathematics (10th standard level). The test will be of 50 marks (50 questions, multiple choices) and the pass marks will be 50%. Successful candidates will qualify for professional skill test” and Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The finally selected candidates will be medically examined.

Date of examination: Last date of submission of application form will be 30 May 2017. Examination will be conducted in the Mid Jul 17. (Exact dated will be intimated in call up letter).

Place of Examination:  Coast Guard District Headquarters -7, Paradip.
