Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Vacancy 2017:

Educational Qualification:

1. Research Officer (Language)/Linguist - (i) Master’s Degree in Linguistics from a recognized University.

2. Deputy Director (Medical) - (i) A recognized Medical qualification included in the First or the Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule (other than the licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule should fulfill the conditions stipulated in Section13 (3) of the said Act. (ii) Five Years’ Professional experience including three years’ experience in the field of occupational health preferably in factories or mines.

3. Research Officer/Planning Officer -(i) Masters Degree in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics or Psychology or Commerce or Education of a recognized university or Equivalent. Experience- Three years’ experience of handling employment problems including two years’ experience in research and collection of data concerning the world of occupations. Work experiences preferably in the following organisations/departments (i) Labour and Employments departments/organisations of Central/State/UTs Governments. (ii) Central/State Employment exchanges etc. (iii) Collection, processing, tabulation and analysis of large scale survey/MIS data

4. Deputy Director-(ER) - Masters’ degree in Political Science/History/Sociology Public Administration/ Geography/ Economics from a recognized University. Note1- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Age Limit:

Candidate’s Age Limit Should not exceed (For Post 1 - 40 Years), (For Post 2 - 43 Years), (For Post 3 - 30 Years), (For Post 4 - 45 Years). The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules. Pay Scale:

1. Research Officer (Language)/Linguist - Rs. 15600-39100 plus Grade Pay Rs. 5400

2. Deputy Director (Medical) - Rs.67, 700-2, 08,700/-) plus Non-Practicing Allowance.

3. Research Officer/Planning Officer - Rs.9300-34800 (PB-2) plus Rs.4600/-(G.P)

4. Deputy Director-(ER) - Rs.15600-39100 with GP Rs. 6600/-
