For Physically Handicapped Persons, only Loco motor or Cerebral palsy having 40% or more in the relevant disability and Hearing Handicapped having loss of 60 decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequency are eligible to apply. **If no suitable OBC candidates are available seats / trades will be filled up by un-reserved candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for Eastern Railway Vacancy 2017:

Educational Qualification:

Matriculation (Matriculate or 10th Class in 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks excluding OPTIONAL/ADDITIONAL SUBJECT and having I.T.I. certificate affiliated to NCVT compulsory in relevant trade. Both side copies of all certificates viz. proof of date of birth, educational/technical Qualification Certificate, Caste Certificate , PH Certificate , Ex-serviceman certificate etc. duly attested by a Gazetted Officer of Central or State Govt. and must bear office seal and name of attesting officer to be attached .

Age Limit:

(i) The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01.07.2017 i.e. should not born earlier than 02.07.1993 and not later than 01.07.2002.

(ii) Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST Candidates. i.e. should not born earlier than 02.07.1988 and not later than 01.07.2002.

(iii) Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years in case of OBC candidates. i.e. should not born earlier than 02.07.1990 and not later than 01.07.2002. Contd... P-4. - : 4 : -

(iv) For Physically Handicapped Person : - Upper age limit is relaxable by 10 years for UR / for SC&ST 15 years and 13 years for OBC. i.e. should not born as follows: –

UR – earlier than 02.07.1983 and not later than 01.07.2002

SC/ST - earlier than 02.07.1978 and not later than 01.07.2002

OBC - earlier than 02.07.1980 and not later than 01.07.2002

(v) The upper age limit is relaxable for ex-servicemen up to the extent of service rendered in defence forces plus 3 years maximum up to 40 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months service at a stretch. Ex-servicemen who have already joined the Govt. Service on Civil side after availing of other benefits given to them as ex-servicemen for further employment can not claim ex-servicemen status for the purpose of their engagement. Such a person will be deemed to be Civil employee and will accordingly be entitled to only such of the benefits like relaxation of age etc. as admissible to Civil employees in the normal course in accordance with existing instructions in this regard subject to his fulfillment of conditions governing the grant of such benefits. They are required to attach a certificate issued by Military Authority indicating their date of enrolment and date 0f discharge. Ex-servicemen are required to clearly indicate all required particulars including Community in the application form and enclose all documentary proof including Community Certificate in the Prescribed Format as required. However, regardless of Community, Ex-servicemen will be considered against the Ex-servicemen Quota, if available. If UR vacancies are not available then only Ex-servicemen belonging to those particular Communities where vacancies are available will be considered against the Ex-servicemen Quota.

Candidates satisfying the above eligibility conditions Use Following Procedure Given Below to Apply Offline:

1. Log on to Eastern Railway Careers Page at official website to www.er.indianrailways.gov.in

2. Eligible candidates are advised to open Notification & Application Form

3. Read the Advertisement carefully to be sure about your eligibility

4. Take a print out of application form

4. Fill your Academic Qualification & Other Related Information as per the instructions

5. Ensure the information provided is correct & Make Payments

8. The Application form & Call Letter as per attached format must be submitted in foolscap paper /A4 size duly filled in all the columns in all respect by the candidate himself in his own hand writing with ball point pen to be addressed to Workshop Personnel Officer, Eastern Railway, Liluah, Howrah - 711 204 in closed envelope super-scribed as “Application for Liluah Workshop” or “Application for Howrah Division” against Notice No. 01/2017/LLH dated 27.10.17 for engagement of Act Apprentices by enclosing the following

(i) 2 Self-addressed envelope of 11” X 5” with Postal Stamp of Rs. 5/- (Exemption for SC/ST/PH Candidates).

(ii) A Crossed Postal Order in favour of F.A. & C.A.O., Eastern Railway, Kolkata payable to GPO/Kolkata for Rs. 100/- as a processing fee which is not refundable/transferable under any circumstances (The Postal Order purchased before the date of publication of this notice will not be valid). (iii) No Postal Order is required for SC/ST , PHP, Women, Minorities & Economically backward candidates as per extant rules.

(iv) Self declaration for waiver of fee for Minority candidates to be submitted as per Annexure- ‘A’ and Proforma for Income Certificate for Economically Backward classes to be submitted as per Annexure-‘B’.

(v) 2 recent Passport Size Photographs duly signed by the applicant, one of which should be pasted on Application Form in the space provided for and the another should be pasted on the CALL LETTER-CUM-ADMIT CARD in the space provided. Both the photographs are required to be attested by Gazetted Officer. Contd… 5. : 5

(vi) Before applying, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility and other criteria, and if erroneously engaged, such candidates shall be summarily dismissed without notice at any stage of engagement.

(vii) All columns should be filled up properly . No column should be left blank otherwise the candidature will be cancelled. Application having Blurred LTI will be cancelled.
