Qualification : i) A basic university qualification included in the schedule to Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). ii) M.D. M.S., or equivalent post graduate qualification recognized by the Medical Council of India in the subject concerned for posts in the Anatomy & Bio-chemistry candidates having PhD Qualification can also apply. Candidates having DNB qualification as per MCI norms can also apply. Three years teaching experience in the subject in a recognized medical college as resident /Registrar/Demonstrator/ Tutor.

Must be registered under the State/Central Medical Registration Act. Those students, who are doingMD/MS Course in the speciality concerned, on selection as Sr.Resident, will have to discontinue their MD/MS Degree course before joining as Senior Resident.
